About Scottish Creelers and Divers

History

This is a new Association, which derives from the Clyde and South-West Static Gear Association (CSSGA) established in 1990

By extending our membership nationally, we seek to defend the rights of all traditional Creelers and Divers against those trawler and dredger operators, who seek to exploit grounds occupied by creel fleets and cause damage to static gear and the sea-bed.

"To establish a strong national voice in the future development of Scottish inshore fishing, in defence of the rights of traditional Creelers and Divers, through input to regional fishery management and national and international conservation groups."

• To press for the introduction of regional and national measures to avoid gear conflict between static and mobile sectors, wherever it exists.
• To ensure a sustainable future for the Creeler and Diver fishing methods, through agreed conservation measures.
• To defend the legal rights of Creeler and Diving communities in conflicts with mobile operators.
